What's new in social media? In this workshop, we'll talk about QR codes, magazines you can create with Twitter feeds, the latest changes to Facebook Fan pages and more. We'll talk about what they are and how to use them for marketing. This class is for people already familiar with social media and are comfortable with Facebook. Making Sense of Social Media, Part 1
Marketing a small business is like trying to conquer a many-headed beast. And now, Facebook pages, blogging and Tweeting are making it even more difficult to know what to do. At this workshop, get a reality check on all the hype as you learn the true benefits of social media for building your reputation, driving website traffic and engaging your audience.
You'll learn about:
- The different types of social sites, from social networks to social shopping
- How to choose the right ones, "Should I be on Facebook?" "Do I really need a blog?"
- The importance of niche sites, where to find them, and how they may be more effective than the "royal three"
- What Twitter is really good for
- How to create your social media toolkit
- The dos and don'ts of social sites
This is a real beginners class, but of course it would be helpful if you've spent a little time playing online to familiarize yourself with the workings of social sites. It would also be helpful to have a basic understanding of marketing. If you don't, you may want to sign up for some of our marketing workshops. Held at Seattle SCORE in downtown Seattle.
