Analytics Audits
Using data to support marketing decision making.
Metrics Tell a Story if You Know How to Read Them
Data's Value is in the Analysis and Recommendations
Data by itself isn't valuable. It's the ability to make recommendations based on a thorough analysis. This may mean recommending something new or getting you to stop something you're doing because it's getting no results. And of course, there are nuances in between that we can see based on our deep client and digital marketing experience.
Traffic or Conversion?
One of the first questions we need to resolve for most of our clients is to identify whether their websites lack traffic (often the case for startups) or their traffic isn't getting them leads or sales. We can help resolve this and then get a good idea why that's the case. Then, we develop a plan for fixing the problems. For existing businesses, it's often the website. Or, perhaps the traffic they're getting is bots or tire kickers. We can help you figure that out and offer solutions
Data Available to the Small Business
Big companies have all sorts of data available to them and deep data analytics expertise. However, there are plenty of resources the small business can tap into to monitor their marketing activities, discover new opportunities, and identify issues.
We can help you set up and use the following to provide insights and support decision making:
- For website traffic data, there's Google Analytics. Every website should be connected to it, as well as Google Search Console, which gives you insights into how Google sees your website.
- Depending on the website platform used, there is plenty of data to work with, from overall traffic to button clicks and ecommerce behavior.
- Social networks provide their own data beyond the "vanity metrics," which don't amount to much in terms of real business.
- Other tools being used provide insights into specific marketing activities, such as email marketing, online publishing, and more.
- We have our own toolkit for gaining further insights which we apply to your case.
Google Stack Setup
The first step is making sure your Google Analytics is set up correctly, and all other relevant technologies are connected to it.
Actionable Insights & Recommendations
We thoroughly analyze the data at a point in time to understand your website traffic and make recommendations in line with your marketing goals. It includes:
- Complete review of your traffic data in relation to your business model, marketing strategy, and activities.
- Identify content-related gaps and make recommendations for developing or revising pages, blogs, or other website content.
- Explore and discover SEO opportunities to improve your on-site SEO.
- Analyzing Google Search Console data to identify working keywords and the quality of meta descriptions.
Deliverable and Virtual Consulting Sessions
You get a detailed report outlining analysis, issues, opportunities, and actionable recommendations (noted in priority order).
We'll then meet with you to discuss our recommendations and how to move forward.
Depending on the amount of traffic you get, we recommend monitoring your site periodically, such as monthly or quarterly, to make adjustments.
